This last week I went to a Scout camp for a week. It is called Camp Daniel Boone. I took the merit badges:

Archery- Finished

Leatherworking-Finished

Fishing-Only need to catch two different types of fish to complete.

First Aid-Finished

The food wasn’t very good, plus they pile it all together, not really caring if they put rice on top of your roast beef. (Half- cooked rice.) My campsite was about close to a mile away from the mess hall (which also happened to be where most of the badges took place.) The water was really cold, yet we still found a way to have fun- Jump into the stream! (It was colder then the lake.) After a couple of minutes, though, you start to get used to it. Meaning that you went numb. The stream ran all throughout camp, and you could often saw people fishing somewhere (mainly on the short stone bridge.) There was also a place called Boonesborough, which took about 40 minutes to get to, walking. It was mostly uphill too. (Grr!) But there they had lots of arts and crafts that you could do, and they had a tavern! It had chips, root beer, and cream soda. (All for a one time price of 19.95! Call now to get a %20 discount! 865-567-4200!) I bought a root beer. It was a brand I didn’t see much often, but it was pretty good.

It is April Fool’s day. At school as soon as the announcements were finished, we had a fire drill that lasted FOREVER!!!!!I think it was an April Fools joke, but the teachers never said April Fools. I still think that it was. Phillip rode home on the bus with me today, and after we got off a bird pooped on his head. April Fools! He really did ride home with me, though. We got to my house, then we had to do our evil homework! (EVIIIIIIIL!!!!) Then I showed him my game, Starcraft. Then we pretty much did whatever until his mom came at 6:3o (Too early!) and picked him up. Then I did study island, which is a website that Knox County Schools uses that kids can study on. Then I looked at my mom’s blog (domesticpsychology.com), and she walked in and said that I couldn’t look at her blog unless I posted often. Then I wrote this post. At the end of the post I wrote “And then I wrote this post.” And then I wrote- never mind.

I’m going caving next weekend with my scout troop. I hear that last year all the kids went on the hard course. There was two little kids and one of them ended up having to go home in the middle of the night with a broken wrist. That doesn’t really help my confidence… But anyway, it still sounds like fun. But don’t fear for me, for I know that you all don’t want me to die or fall or break my neck or… Never mind. My mom just asked me to stop. But anyway, this time everybody in my patrol (the newest patrol but still the most awesome) is going on the beginners so there won’t be any deaths or blood or organs or… darn it , my mom’s still watching me. But still, it sounds like fun.

I’m back! It was very fun, and at one point we had to squeeze through a hole about a 10 in. in diameter- on our back! After that, we had to crawl through Midget Madness, a tunnel shaped like a trench that had a low roof and even I couldn’t put one leg in front of the other! I had to sort of gallop my way it. Did I mention it was 30 feet long? Anyway, I had to climb up and down a rope, cross a tunnel that in the middle of it was a thin canyon that stretched down to reach even 20 feet! Some people had to carry their bags inside for about an hour and a half (WOW!) until they finally got to their campsite. Luckily for us, we were only a little ways in. I can’t wait to go again!

Last weekend I went skiing with my dad and my boy scout troop on Sugar Mountain. One person in my troop went snow boarding. He got into a fistfight with the mountain. The mountain won. (He broke his wrist and had to go home when we got back to the campsite.) Phillip, Tyler and I took a lesson. By the time the lesson was done, we only had enough time to go down the beginner slopes once before it was lunch. I fell once at the beginning because a snowboarder fell right in front of me and my friends went ahead. Then my dad helped me up and we talked for five minutes or so, then I went zooming down the slope with my dad behind me, trying to tell me to slow down. About halfway down I found Phillip and Tyler; both of them had just fallen. I almost ran over Tyler’s handhold stick or whatever it’s called on the way past them, but I lifted up my ski went over it. Then I continued my rapid ascent to the bottom where I finally stopped and found out that my dad had been chasing after me the whole time. Then he said that it was lunchtime and I should go eat. So I went and looked for everybody else for about fifteen minutes or so, then I found them at one of the picnic tables behind the resort. After lunch I put on my skis and went down the intermediate slope. I got off at the first stop, about halfway to the top, then quickly skied down to the bottom. I was scared-I was going faster than I did on the beginner slopes, and I was once again passing everybody else. when I tried to stop on the slope, I couldn’t. I could stop at the bottom without crashing to stop, but it was still pretty scary. It was fun, though! I went down it a few more times, then once I decided to go the second stop. When I got off, I went speedily down the slope once again- although this time there was one difference. I crashed. I guess I was leaning forward too far, because I went rolling slash sliding down the mountain for about 30 feet. That was probably my favorite part. There was a snowboarder on the side of the path taking a rest, and when I fell, he said,”Dude, that was gnarly!” I fell once later on, but it wasn’t as big as this one. I want to go snowboarding next year!

Back again!

My mom made me dress up. (sigh…) The theater was really fancy. I was pretty much the only kid there except for the directors son. I got to have coke and crackers. I met the director and the soloist (awesome!) at the PRIVATE Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Bloggers Reception!

All in all it was very fun!
